What to build

Let a Catalog Administrator use the existing table and column checkboxes plus the Actions selector to copy non-empty Generated Descriptions into curated Descriptions. Keep the generated proposal, skip empty proposals safely, and never update the external Workspace Database.

Acceptance criteria

  • The action is available for selected Catalog Tables and selected Catalog Columns.
  • Each selected non-empty Generated Description is copied into Description while Generated Description is retained unchanged.
  • Selected targets with an empty Generated Description are skipped without clearing existing curated text.
  • The response and UI report copied and skipped counts.
  • The catalog update is transactional and respects the active operation reservation for the Workspace Database.
  • The action requires database-management permission and unauthorized API calls are rejected.
  • No statement is sent to the external Workspace Database.
  • PostgreSQL integration tests and Database Management tests cover tables, columns, mixed eligible/empty selections, permission failure, and displayed results.
