Embedded in the Omics Portal the SPA sits to the right of the portal sidebar,
but dialogs used `fixed left-1/2` — centered on the whole browser window, so
gates rendered visibly off-center (overlapping the sidebar).
- AppShell publishes the app area's horizontal geometry (--app-area-left/width)
as CSS vars on <html> via ResizeObserver + window resize.
- DialogContent centers on those vars (falls back to the viewport when the app
is standalone, where the two coincide).
- ArtifactGateWidget: narrower — cap at 52rem instead of 70vw.
- tools/replay: resume now returns {id, alreadyActive} JSON — the post-f979ada
frontend reads result.alreadyActive and a bare 204 broke replay resume.
Verified on the replay harness: with a simulated 300px portal sidebar the gate
centers on the app area (center 790 = 300 + 980/2); standalone unchanged.

A render error in one viewer or gate widget unmounted the whole React root
(white screen). Add a reusable ErrorBoundary (class component, no new dep) with
resetKeys + an on-brand fallback, and wire it at two surfaces:
- WidgetHost: isolates the gate widget (reset on descriptor id) so a malformed
gate payload no longer blanks the conversation
- SessionDocumentsPanel: wraps each document (reset on doc key/content) so one
crashing viewer degrades only its section; siblings and the panel survive
The observed crash: a schema-linking doc that parses but lacks `candidates`
makes SchemaLinkingViewer throw. Verified live via Playwright against the mock
backend. TDD throughout; tsc clean, 123/123 vitest (+8 new tests).

Adopt the portal's design language so the app embeds seamlessly into its
header/sidebar chrome later:
- Token layer rewritten as raw OKLCH triplets (the previous oklch()-wrapped
vars produced invalid colors; the UI was effectively unstyled). Values mirror
GSD: Manrope + Fraunces fonts, #cb333b red brand, warm off-white surfaces,
pill buttons, brand focus rings. Dark tokens follow .dark or the portal's
[data-bs-theme=dark].
- Layout: no left sidebar, no header (the portal supplies them). Conversation
column flush-left with a slim F1-F8 phase strip; session rail moved to the
RIGHT, mirroring the portal's left sidebar (red section label, red-tint active
item). Editorial empty state.
- Transcript component now actually renders the streamed assistant turns (the
store accumulated them but nothing displayed them). Toaster mounted for errors
(matchMedia polyfill added to the jsdom test setup).

TDD: App-renders-ThothII test RED then GREEN. ShadCn v4 (base-nova style)
init + button/checkbox/radio-group/textarea/card/dialog/badge/sonner added.
tailwind.config.ts extended with oklch CSS-variable color mapping required
by ShadCn v4 @apply directives. npm test passes; npm run build clean.
